Pudhu Vaazhvu Project has evolved a unique public private partnership model and has taken initiative to impart skill training to youth to improve their employability and link them with reputed corporate and industrial houses or self employment. Job oriented skill training for youth leading to employment in Corporate sector or self employment.


Collection of Youth Data

In  each panchayat youth data for target youth in the age group between 18 to 35, their name, address, age, category, education qualification and training in which they are interested are collected. 
As per the youth data. the VPRC depute them to training for getting sustainable income.

Youth Forum

After collection of youth data, the youth forum formed.
All the youths in each panchayat are members of this youth forum

Youth Subcommittee

10-15 members are formed into youth subcommittee for implementing youth forum.
They are represented from each habitation.
50% from target youth, 50% must be women are in subcommittee.
Local members are selected as youth subcommittee

Youth Representative in VPRC

1 target youth from each gender are selected by gramasabha for acting as youth representative
Out of them 1 will act as treasurer and another as sub treasurer


The youths are being trained through well and recognized skill training institutions.


The skill training institutions are arranging employment for completed training youths.

Job Mela

District, Block and cluster level job melas are being conducted for unemployed youths in the village.  PVP is the bridge between skill training institutions and unemployed youths.

Self Employment

After completion of training, the youth is being provided individual assistance from VPRC for starting self employment



After the social inclusion and capacity building of the village institutions, the target poor take up livelihood activities in the Panchayats.  Participatory Resource Mapping exercise is used to identify viable Economic activities in the Project.  In order to get sustainable income out of these livelihood activities, it has been planned to promote livelihood activities.


Self Help Groups (SHG)

  • The left out target poor are formed into self help groups and revival of defunct SHGs.
  • They are the building blocks of the community.  Training is given to the members to build their capacities.
  • They are linked to banks, Government Schemes to start Livelihood activities.
  • To form sustainable federations.

Types of Self Help Groups (SHGs)




All SHGs in a Village Panchayat form a federation. The Panchayat level Federation of SHGs is a forum to share their experience and to voice their problems. PLFs provide sustainability and self reliance to the SHGs.


Community Professional Learning and Training Centres (CPLTC)


To provide an institutional mechanism for the CPs for providing services on a continuing basis, Community Professional Learning and Training Centres (CPLTCs) have been established and are managed by the community themselves.   CPLTCs provide platform for community members to share their learning and experience and facilitate community to community learning.



Pudhu Vaazhvu Project recognized differently abled persons contitute a significant portion of the ultra poor and marginalised in the rural areas.
Given the project’s objectives, it is imperative to reach out to the differently abled, work towards their socio-economic betterment and mainstream them
The project has incorporated a special component for the differently abled persons in it’s design.

  1. Earmarking resources for the differently abled persons.
  2. Social Inclusion
  3. Community based rehabilitation
  4. Specialised agency to provide technical support for rehabilitation of the differently abled persons.
  5. Exclusive staff for disability component in the project.

          The project aims to empower the differently abled persons by proactively including them in socio-economic development activities and ensuring their development in a barrier-free environment by initiating the following.

Special Focus on Tribal Communities
          In order to empower the Tribals, the project by design has

  1. To Promote exclusive institutions for the Tribals like the Tribal VPRC and transferred funds to them.
  2. To Provide higher allocation of project funds to tribal families.
